The next time you see a sidewalk performer or go to a Broadway play or make your annual pilgrimage to U2 - watch the crowd for a few minutes. And there is always a crowd. Why? People are hungry for creativity. People love ingenuity. Yet so many times the church crushes creativity instead of embracing and encouraging the creative spirit. Let's break the mold! Step out of the box. In fact, go way beyond the box and do something really creative in your service or ministry. We have the greatest message mankind has ever heard - let's present it in fresh, new and creative ways. I believe the church should be the most innovative, energetic, enthusiastic creative place in town. The church should be the center of creativity. Let's make it so!
As I read this I can feel the enthusiasm that you have in making this church the center of creativity. You are right when you say that the church should be the most creative, enthusiastic, entergetic place in town. But far too often(on a daily basis) people pass by a church and barely even glance at it ...let alone think about going inside. I believe that this church will be a starting point for the people that do hear what you have to offer them...not only in the times when they faced with a challange, or they struggle to make the right choice or they seem to have lost all hope and they think the battle before them is to great to withstand but also for the people that just want to grow closer to God as they walk through life. So ROCK ON with stepping out of the mold because you do have the greatest message that people NEED to hear!

Your point about people "passing by a church and barely even glancing at it ...let alone thinking about going inside" is insightful. Our creativity has to be part of a process that includes building relationships with people (investing in them), talking to them (when the time is right) about how God changed our lives (introducing them to God), and then finally, inviting them out to church where they can hear creative, relevant, life-changing messages.
